The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) at Nag Kalan near here is set to organise a Kisan Mela on March 10, with the aim of promoting new agricultural technologies and improving crop yields.

The event themed, “Navi Kheti Takneekan Apnao, Kharch Ghatayo Jhaad Vadhayo”, would be attended by prominent figures, including Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, who will be the chief guest.

Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, vice-chancellor of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, would preside over the event.

Various departments, including agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, horticulture and agricultural machinery would set up stalls to showcase their schemes and provide information to farmers.

Scientists will also interact with farmers to address their queries and provide guidance on improving their farming practices. Improved seeds for the summer crops, particularly paddy and vegetables, would be made available to farmers during the event.
