The PCMSA has announced to take the final call regarding the protest on January 23. The association said it was hopeful that the government would issue notification regarding acceptance of their demands within next three days.

Doctors at government hospitals had been urging the government to restart assured career progression scheme, which was stopped a few years ago. They said unlike other government departments, the doctors do not have much promotional avenues and with the government stopping the promotional policy, most of them would suffer.
