PEDA organises training prog on energy efficiency at Amritsar MC office

Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) in association with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) under the aegis of Ministry of Power, Government of India, organised training on Municipal Demand Side Management (MuDSM) at the office of Municipal Corporation here (MC) which was attended by officials of Urban Local Bodies, MCs, PWDs and improvement trust.
Komal Mittal, Commissioner, MC, was the chief guest on the occasion, who addressed the participants about the need of energy conservation in street lighting, water pumping and sewage treatment.
Surinder Singla, BEE certified energy auditor and MD of Five M Energy Pvt Ltd, was the trainer during the occasion, who briefed about indoor lighting, outdoor lighting, street lighting, energy conservation, water pumping technology, sewage garbage disposal technology, intervention of renewable energy sources, electrical vehicle, bee star rated fan, motors and smart city initiative.
The MuDSM scheme of BEE was initiated during XI plan. BEE has identified the immense energy saving potential in municipal sector. The basic objective of the project was to improve the overall energy efficiency of the ULBs, MCs and PWDs which could lead to substantial savings in the electricity consumption, thereby resulting in cost savings for the ULBs. The training will be conducted at Amritsar, Jalandhar, Patiala and Ludhiana in next one month.
Pardeep Saini, Chief Engineer, PSPCL, Paramjit Singh Mahoora, former dean and faculty, professor, HoD architecture, GND University, Er Bal Krishan, Deputy CE, city circle, PSPCL, Amristar, Er Skatter Singh Dhillon, deputy CE, HQ, PSPCL, Amritsar, were the guest of honour at the event. They also motivated the participant to improve the energy efficiency and water efficiency in the MuDSM.
