Pendu Mazdoor Union members protest Tanda MLA’s behaviour with labourers
Tanda (Hoshiarpur), July 27
Pendu Mazdoor Union Punjab held a meeting to discuss the basic issues concerning labourers. It was decided to run a village level campaign to resolve them. Also, it was resolved to hold a meeting near Tanda police station to seek action against the alleged misbehaviour of local MLA Jasveer Singh Raja and his supporters with labourers at Tahli village.
State press secretary of the union Kashmir Singh Ghugshore and Tehsil secretary Novel Gill Tahli said that Punjab Government should remove illegal encroachments from the allotted lands and give ownership rights to Dalits. The state government should also provide ownership rights to people living in slums, in ‘Lal Dora’ areas, and provide employment to daily wage earners. Labourers would be mobilised till August 15 to seek a complete loan waiver. From August 18 to 26, there will be a protest in front of the block offices.
Union leaders Buddha Raj, Sonu Tahli and Dalip Talwandi Sallan were among those who addressed the meeting.
