Members of the Pensioners Welfare Association (PWA) on Sunday held a protest rally against the state government for not implementing their demands.
Surjit Singh Goraya and Sukhdev Singh Pannu, patron and president of the association, said the government displayed its ruthless face by postponing implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission report till June 30 and the concept of “no work no pay”.
Association general secretary Somnath Rauliya alleged that the government was not releasing valid pension and other dues to its retired employees.
On the other hand, when it comes to MLAs, the state government was releasing them pension and other emoluments without any hitch.
They sought immediate release of pending installments of dearness allowance, implementation of the pay commission report, increase in medical allowance to Rs 2,500 per month, and revival of stalled cashless health scheme.
