“In the absence of timely garbage lifting, many residents have begun burning waste piles, releasing toxic fumes that have worsened the city’s air quality and endangered public health,” he pointed out.

Calling it a matter of public safety and environmental concern, the front members stressed that the administration must act swiftly to streamline garbage collection, raise awareness against waste burning and implement strict enforcement to curb the practice.

The front appealed to the Deputy Commissioner to ensure a clean and sustainable Amritsar through prompt administrative measures.
