Amritsar: The Directorate of Placement & Career Enhancement of Guru Nanak Dev University organised a pep talk on the topic of 'Importance of Life Skills for a Successful Career'. The talk was conducted by Maninder Sachdev, former CBI officer, for the students of the engineering, MBA, sciences and life sciences faculties. More than 300 students from various courses attended the session. Sachdev enlightened the young students on importance of life skills like time management, continuous learning, adaptability, procrastination, communication skills, confidence and personality development. The session was really lively and energetic and students participated in the session wholeheartedly. Students need to understand and adapt to the new technologies as per the ever dynamic changes in the industry. After her retirement from the CBI Headquarters, New Delhi, she started working as a master trainer.
KCVAS signs MoU with CSIR-IHBT
Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (KCVAS), Amritsar has signed a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (CSIR-IHBT), Palampur, Himachal Pradesh for collaborative research, training and academic activities in the area of veterinary sciences and related areas of mutual interest. Dr. Sudesh Yadav, Director, CSIR-IHBT and Dr. Harish Verma, Principal, KCVAS signed the document to collaborate in the activities related to veterinary sciences. Dr Verma revealed that it is an excellent opportunity to expose our veterinary students to the Central Government reputed institute working on utilisation of Himalayan bio resource for the benefit of society. This collaborative MoU will provide the Vets to utilise the alternative indigenous medicines for the prevention and treatment of common disease.
Grand ceremony for Special kids
A momentous event commemorating the 200th birth anniversary of Maharishi Swami Dayanand Saraswati took place at DAV Red Cross School for Special Children, Amritsar, on Monday. Dr JP Shoor, president of the Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Upsabha, Punjab, graced the occasion as the chief guest, joined by Inderpal Arya, member, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi, and other office-bearers from the upsabha. Dr Neelam Kamra welcomed the august gathering and expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to partake in the 200th birthday celebrations of Swami Dayanand Saraswati. She praised his contributions to national progress, societal uplift, women empowerment, and the abandonment of orthodox practices. Dr JP Shoor underscored the timeless inspiration found in the teachings of Maharishi Swami Dayanan, the founder of Arya Samaj.

The IQAC cell of the Global Group of Institutes organised an enlightening expert talk focused on enhancing entrepreneurial skills, with the overarching goal of addressing youth unemployment issues. The distinguished speaker, Mick Walvisch, a senior expert Programma Uitzending Manager from PUM in the Netherlands, shared cutting-edge insights on startup incubation, inspiring students to embark on their entrepreneurial journeys. Engaging with students across diverse disciplines, Walvisch delved into the theme of Entrepreneur Ecosystem: Various Stakeholders and collaborators, fostering discussions that yielded practical solutions for overcoming entrepreneurial challenges. Students gained valuable insights, equipping them with tips to navigate the path of self-employment.
