The Tarn Taran police have solved a blind murder case within hours of reporting the crime. The police claimed that the body of the deceased was identified and the accused arrested along with the weapon used in the crime.

SP (Headquarter) Parwinder Kaur said the Harike police found body of one unidentified person from canal distributor path situated on the link road of Booh Havelian village on Monday. She said a police team led by Kanwalpreet Singh, DSP, Patti, and Ranjit Singh, Sub-Inspector, SHO Harike, succeed in identifying the deceased as Varinder Singh (20), a resident of Buraj Deva Singh village. “The accused has been identified as Sandeep Singh, a resident of Booh Havelian village. He was friend of the deceased,” the SP said. She said Varinder met his friend Sandeep at Harike on Sunday night. Both had liquor together and indulged in some verbal dual, she said. Sandeep in a fit of anger attacked Varinder Singh with a sharp weapon resulting in his death. The SP said the accused was arrested and weapon used in the crime and mobile phone of deceased Varinder was recovered from his possession.
