A police party from Valtoha was attacked at a government school in Asal Uttar village on Wednesday when it had gone to check mischievous elements indulging in teasing girl students of the school.
ASI Avtar Singh said Tarlochan Singh, former sarpanch of the village, informed the police about hooliganism created by suspects armed with sticks and sharp weapons on the school premises. After receiving complaint, a police party from Valtoha reached the school. Head constable Sandeep Singh, who was accompanying the police party, started pushing out mischievous elements from the school premises to prevent any untoward incident. While Sandeep was doing his duty, mischievous suspects attacked him, tore his uniform and also entered into a scuffle with him.
ASI Avtar Singh said the suspects, who indulged in hooliganism on the school premises and attacked head constable, were identified as Akashdeep Singh Kashi, Avtar Singh Tar, Partap Singh, Tabu, Bagicha Singh, Lovpreet Singh Fullu, Janta, Gurdev Singh, Daler Singh, Basant Singh and Bittu Ram, all residents of Asal Uttar village. The ASI said the suspects were booked under Sections 221, 132, 121 (1), 190 and 191 (3) of the BNS at the Valtoha police station.
One Sukhwider Singh, resident of Asal Uttar village said, the suspects had been eve-teasing girl students on the school premises. ASI Avtar Singh said the suspects managed to flee while taking advantage of a huge gathering on the school premises. He said the police were conducting raids at their possible hideouts to nab them.
