Krishan Kumar Sharma, president of the Warp Knitting Association Amritsar, Amritsar Textile Processing Association, and CREDAI Amritsar chapter, along with former Rajya Sabha member Shwait Malik, handed over a memorandum to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari seeking his attention to address key infrastructure concerns here on Sunday.

Gadkari, who was in city on Sunday, assured the delegation of positive response. In the memorandum, Krishan Kumar sought timely completion of the Jammu-Katra Express highway, along with other pending highway projects in the region. A special request was made for a dedicated exit on Majitha Road on the highway to benefit over 500 industries in Amritsar. The importance of completing these projects to enhance connectivity and boost tourism, leveraging Amritsar’s international airport, was also highlighted.

They drew his attention to the prolonged delay in the six-laning of the Beas-Amritsar Highway, underscoring its critical role in industrial growth and the overall development of the city.

Gadkari also assured them of swift action and instructed the PWD Minister to collaborate with the Punjab Chief Minister to prepare a detailed report on the pending projects. He promised to grant immediate approval once the report is submitted.
