Post floods, FICCI FLO extends financial aid to self-help groups

FICCI FLO is providing financial assistance to self-help groups in Amritsar.

Self-help groups, under the Punjab State Rural Livelihood Mission, are running in the villages of Amritsar district, in which efforts are made by women to raise their standard of living and become economically self-reliant.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Paramjit Kaur said due to floods the ongoing works and projects of these self-help groups have suffered a setback in the Ramdas area. “In order to restart their work, FICCI FLO Amritsar Chapter has come forward and offered financial aid to these self-help groups,’ informed the ADC Paramjit Kaur.

Mona Singh, FICCI FLO Chairperson, handed over a cheque of Rs 10,000 each to 10 women members of various self-help groups at the office of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Amritsar. Many of these groups run small local businesses, including producing and packaging local food products like honey, jaggery and other products like handicrafts.
