Protect environment for future generations, says DLSA Secy
Amritsar, July 19
Rachpal Singh, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, raised awareness about legal services during the checking of checkpoints installed by the police on the elevated road here on Friday. Under the traffic awareness campaign launched by the police, he made people aware of the traffic rules and penalty and punishment in case of violations.
During his public interactions, he promoted tree plantation as district administration officials have been engaging people in plantation drives. “Seeing the rising temperature, as an aftermath of the increasing global warming, we should plant more trees so that we can help create a pleasant environment for the coming generations. India is among the countries which will bear the most catastrophic aftermath of global warming. So, we need to be more thoughtful and cautious of our choices now,” he said. The police personnel/employees present there also gave a message to people to plant more trees.
He said this time National Lok Adalat will be held on September 14. “In this, family cases (such as disputes between husband and wife), cheque-bounce cases, bank cases, finance companies (insurance companies), motor vehicle accidents, land disputes, electricity and water bills, etc, can be filed.
“The main purpose of Lok Adalat is to settle court cases through compromise/resignation so that both parties can save money and time as well as reduce their mutual enmity ,” he said.
