Protest brings traffic to a standstill

The protest comes weeks before the by-election for Tarn Taran assembly constituency is to be held.
The protesters staged a dharna and organised a protest march as a result of which traffic remained paralysed for hours together in the city. Activists belonging to 12 different teacher organisations besides employees of Aam Aadmi Clinics or Mohalla Clinics brought traffic in the city to a standstill and people had to face great difficulties for hours as they got stuck in the jam. Due to the protest by the Aam Aadmi Sanjha Front, Punjab, here at Chowk Bohri, roads from all sides leading to the city were blocked.
Under the banner of Aam Aadmi Clinic Joint Front, pharmacy officers and clinic assistants staged a protest demanding that they be given permanent appointment letters instead of empanelment letters. The reinstated Kacha Teachers Union Punjab of EGS/AIR/STR and Education Providers etc, who had served in the Education Department for 10 years, also held a march to press for the acceptance of their demands. The Elementary Teachers Association, Computer Teachers Union, Master Cadre Union, Kacha Teachers Union Punjab and Special Cadre Teachers Front all raised their voice in protest.
