Amritsar: A marginal farmer from Pandori Waraich village, near here, died after returning from the ongoing protest site at Singhu border on Saturday evening. The deceased Tejpal Singh, 52, was attending the protest against the agriculture-related laws at the Delhi border since September 25. However, he was brought back a few days ago as he fell sick. “Tejpal Singh owned only two acres of land. He is survived by his wife and three children,” said Rattan Singh Randhawa, a farmer leader. Farmer leaders demanded that in view of the poor financial health of the family, the government should provide an assistance of Rs10 lakh and a job to the family member. TNS
