The 117th Battalion of BSF started a public welfare programme at the government school, Jagdev Khurd village, here on Monday. The programme was inaugurated by BSF IG Dr Atul Fulzele. Jaswinder Kumar Birdi, DIG BSF, Gurdaspur sector and Brij Mohan Purohit, Commandant, 117th Battalion, were also present.

Several schemes were started at a cost of Rs 3.09 lakh. The youth were handed over kits for the repair of laptops, mobile phones and bicycles. A 'Loan Mela was also held,' with SBI.
