According to Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, the heroin was seized following the arrest of a cross-border drug peddler, identified as Simran Singh of Basarke Gillan village.

The arrested accused was involved in large-scale heroin smuggling, and it was reported that he had recently received a consignment of heroin smuggled via drone across the border. The drugs were hidden in a car, the DGP said.

A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against the accused and further investigation is on to bust the entire nexus, he said.
