Punjab STF raids DSP Vavinder Mahajan’s residence amid corruption claims in drug cases

The Special Task Force (STF) of Punjab Police conducted a raid on DSP Vavinder Mahajan’s residence, who is currently posted at India Reserve Battalion. A senior police official confirmed the development, stating that the raid was conducted following complaints of corruption in drug-related cases.

According to sources, STF allegedly seized a huge amount of unaccounted cash from his house. Mahajan has been absconding since the raid, which took place on Wednesday evening. Local STF staff and police officials declined to comment on the matter.

The police official said, “We cannot share case details at this time, as it may hinder the investigation.”

Vavinder Mahajan had previously led successful operations against opioid and heroin rackets, including Pharma Opioids. He also seized over 200 kg heroin and other narcotic materials from Sultanwind village in 2020.
