Pure wood furniture a crowd-puller at PITEX

As the local market is flooded with particle board furniture, pure wood furniture has become a hit with visitors at the PITEX.

Rahul Kumar, a manufacturer of sheesham (tahli)-made furniture, said the widespread use of particle board had drastically brought down the actual number of carpenters adept in making furniture from wood. He said tahli was the prominent variety of wood available in the Indo-Gangetic plains. Rahul said his firm was known across the North India for preparing pure wood furniture such as beds, sofa sets and almirahs of all sizes.

Saharanpur-based furniture houses showcased smoked Assam teak-made furniture available in outdoor and indoor chair sets and swings. Sofa Hub displayed all types of wooden contemporary furniture with high-quality raw material used to make a superior quality products.

Amit Kumar Arora of the hub said his firm was producing sofas, which were known for elegance and comfort in league with global trends. Aslam Ali Ansari said sofas were available in sweat, leatherite, a leather look alike, in various designs.
