Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Gulpreet Singh Aulakh has issued strict instructions to private firm L&T (Larsen & Toubro) to ensure timely completion of all works under the Punjab Municipal Services Improvement Project (PIMSIP) here yesterday. The PIMSIP project is being implemented by the Municipal Corporation, Amritsar, with financial assistance from the World Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). The meeting was attended by Project CEO and Additional Commissioner Surinder Singh, project manager Sunny from the corporation, L&T project manager Rahul Patel, senior construction manager Ashwani Sharma, Shiv Kumar Soni, CFO Jatinder Wassal, and other senior officials involved in the project.

During the meeting, L&T’s project manager Rahul Patel presented a progress report and stated that repeated instructions had already been given to complete the work on schedule. However, the company is facing a shortage of labour, which is causing delays. MC Commissioner Aulakh expressed concern over the delay and firmly directed L&T to immediately increase the workforce and bring in additional construction machinery and necessary resources. He emphasized that the project must be completed within the set timeframe without any further postponements.

Highlighting future plans, the MC Commissioner mentioned that the municipal corporation is moving towards digital transformation of its services to ensure faster, transparent, and citizen-friendly delivery. Once implemented, these digital services will enable residents to access various civic utilities easily and in a timely manner.
