Pvt schools in field of early child care told to get registered
The Punjab Government has issued a notification for registering private schools, institutions and playway schools working in the field of early child care and education (ECCE) to ensure the all-round development of children. Assistant Commissioner Gursirmanjit Kaur said that the department has started the registration of institutions working in this sector for children of 3-6 age-group. “To make the registration mandatory, application form number 1 can be obtained by coordinating with the District Programme Officer or the CDPO of the block concerned,” she said.
Since last year, the Punjab Government decided to implement the recommendations of the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Council across the state. All playway schools in the state will be monitored by the state-level ECCE Council, which will be led by the Minister of the Department.
The ADC said that it is mandatory to get every playway school registered and all private schools/institutions in the district will be checked. If any institution does not fulfill the criteria, then it will be shut, she said.
Meena Devi, District Programme Officer, said if there is any problem during registration, then the office of District Programme Officer, Amritsar, or the CDPO of the block concerned, can be contacted.
