In order to facilitate travel of passengers and reduce extra rush during the upcoming festive season, the Railways has decided to run weekly special trains between Amritsar and Bihar from next month.
The Railways has decided to run weekly special trains between Amritsar-Gorakhpur and Amritsar-Chhapra railway stations. Pair of Amritsar-Gorakhpur (05006 /05005) weekly special train (22 trips and 05005 would run from Gorakhpur to Amritsar every Wednesday between September 18 to November 27 (11 trips). The weekly special train 05005 would depart from Gorakhpur at 2.40 pm and reach Amritsar the next day at 9.30 am. In the return journey, 05006 would run from Amritsar to Gorakhpur every Thursday from September 19 to November 28 (11 trips). This weekly special train 05006 would depart from Amritsar at 12.45 pm and reach Gorakhpur at 8.50 am the next day.
En route, the special train would halt at Beas, Jalandhar city, Dhandari Kalan, Ambala Cantt, Yamunanagar Jagadhri, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Bareilly, Sitapur, Budhwal, Gonda, Basti and Khalilabad stations in both directions. A pair of Amritsar-Chhapra (05050 /05049) weekly special train (22 trips) would also ply from next month. The 05049 would chug off from Chhapra to Amritsar every Friday from September 20 to November 29 (11 trips). This weekly special train 05049 would depart from Chhapra at 9.55 am and reach Amritsar at 9.30 am the next day. In the return direction, 05050 would run from Amritsar to Chhapra every Saturday from September 21 to November 30 (11 trips). This weekly special train 05050 would depart from Amritsar at 12.45 pm and reach Chhapra at 2 pm the next day.
En-route, the special train would stop at Beas, Jalandhar city, Dhandari Kalan, Ambala Cantonment, Yamuna Nagar Jagadhri, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Bareilly, Sitapur, Budhwal, Gonda, Basti, Khalilabad, Gorakhpur, Kaptanganj, Padrauna, Tamkuhi Road, Thawe and Siwan railway stations in both directions.
