Raja Warring urges united front for bypoll

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring addressed a well attended conference of party workers at the local Satikar Palace, calling upon party leaders to get united for the victory of the Congress candidate in the forthcoming Tarn Taran Vidhan Sabha byelection. The party had represented this seat in the 2017 elections.

Political activities in the area have picked up with the announcement of Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa as the party candidate by SAD and three-time MLA and former SAD leader Harmit Singh Sandhu being nominated as Halqa in-charge by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Party leaders aspiring for a ticket for the bypoll attended the conference. Raja Warring urged the party ticket aspirants to reach the voters and re-activate them in case they were not coming out to work. He also got suggestions from party workers for better performance of the party. The Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee chief assured the party leaders and workers that the Congress wanted to declare its candidate from here soon. He said he was aware that there were more than one aspirant but made it clear that while one will get the ticket, the others will have to abide by the party decision.

Former MLAs Ramanjit Singh Sikki, Harpartap Singh Ajnala, Sukhwinder Singh Danny Bandala, Tarsem Singh DC, Sunil Datti, Harithik Arora, state general secretary of the Punjab Youth Congress, were among those who addressed the gathering on the occasion.
