Amritsar, March 14
The Amritsar Rangmanch Festival being held at Virsa Vihar since March 6 has been postponed as the administration issued orders to shut down cinemas, malls, swimming pools and gyms.
Preventive measures against the spread of Covid-19 have resulted in cancelling or postponing many events in the city.
Festival director Kewal Dhaliwal, who is also president, Virsa Vihar Society, issued a statement informing that the remaining edition of the festival would be held in April.
On the eight day of the festival, artistes of the Lok Kala Manch group from Majitha Road presented a play, ‘Socrates’. It was based on famous Greek philosopher Socrates ideologies and his death. The bold and ideological Socrates was disliked by Greek political masters, who enjoyed social, economical and political dominance at the time.
