A special camp was organised at village Kala as part of the Financial Literacy Awareness Project launched by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday. People were made aware of different schemes offered by RBI through banks.
The RBI had launched a special campaign on financial literacy in villages in Dhaul village. A special awareness camp was also held at Kala, in which Garima Bassi from RBI Chandigarh, informed that a special project on financial literacy had been launched for the common people in the state. People are being made aware at camps about schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima, Atal Pension Bima Yojana, Sukanya Smriti Yojana, etc. She said under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Atal Pension Bima Yojana etc, the insurance of people is also done by banks.
Centre Manager of RBI Amandeep Kaur welcomed the participants, informing them that they should not divulge any details related to their personal documents, including bank, post office passbooks on phone calls to anyone. She added that they should not share passwords with anybody on the phone. She said no bank asks for any such detail or document from the customer’s over the phone.
