Registration of 21 stone crushers cancelled over ‘illegal mining’, in Dasuya, Garhshankar

The Mining Department has cancelled the registration of 21 stone crushers in the district due to non-filing of monthly returns and alleged illegal mining.
In this regard, the Environmental Engineer, Punjab Pollution Control Board, Regional Office, Hoshiarpur, was informed by writing a letter. The Executive Engineer, Water Drainage-cum-Mining and Geological Division, Hoshiarpur, has asked to write to the department concerned to snap the electricity connection of the crushers.
The Executive Engineer (Mining) has informed through his letter (No.64/4MW dated 16 January 2025) that out of these, 13 stone crushers are in Dasuya, one in Garhshankar and seven stone crushers in Mukerian tehsil.
According to the letter, due to non-filing of monthly returns and illegal mining by the owners of the said stone crushers, their registration has been suspended by the head office of the Mining Department, Chandigarh, from December 12, 2024. The crushers that will be affected by this order include Harjeet Stone Crusher, Sandhwal village, Sant Stone Crusher, Noshahra Simbli, Shahi Stone Crusher, Handwal, Vashisht Stone Crusher, Handwal, Bharat Stone Crusher, Chak Mirpur, Stone Liquor Crusher Udyog, Nikoo Chakk, Baba Farid Stone Crusher, Sandhwal, Miri Piri Stone Crusher, Sariyana, Jai Shankar Stone Crusher, Sandhwal, Kahlon Stone Crusher Wazira, Balaji Stone Crusher, Chak Mirpur, Guru Nanak Stone Crusher, Mehatpur, Mahadev Stone Crusher, Vela Sariyana.
Besides, it has also been recommended to cut off the electricity connections of Shiva Link Aggregate at Kunail village in Garhshankar; and Saurav Concrete Stone Crusher, Alera, Barad Stone, Baringli, Malwa Concrete Plant, Dugral, Master Stone Crusher, Alera, Shri Balaji Infracon Pvt Ltd, Sukhchainpur, Hillside Stone Crusher, Baringli, and Doaba Concrete Plant, Baringli, all in Mukerian tehsil.
