Researcher receives patent for scanner
Amritsar, July 11
Prof Gurjit Singh Dhillon, vice-principal of CKD Institute of Management and Technology, has designed a special scanner, Lexical Analysis Compiler Jantar, and received a patent for it from the government. Lexical Analysis is the first phase of a compiler, also known as scanner, and uses modified codes to create small tokens.
Prof Dhillon, along with members of the Chief Khalsa Diwan, today received the patent. “It will facilitate language interpretation compilation and code optimisation in various domains ranging from important application software development to various artificial intelligence research. These are significant for language analysis in technology, to identify fundamental elements and break them down into keywords,” he said.
CKD members hailed Dr Dhillon for successfully carrying out this meritorious academic work. They said it was a big challenge to create and make the innovation successful. Dr Dhillon has a decade of academic research experience and has been an educator for years now. He has been running several innovative technology-based research projects under his mentorship at the CKD Institute of Management and Technology.
