Restaurant worker thrashed; 4 booked

An employee of a restaurant near Celebration Shopping Mall was kidnapped and thrashed by four persons here late Monday evening over a dispute with his brother.

The victim was identified as Gulshan Thakur. The police have booked the four suspects, including Kaka Kirach of New Pawan Nagar area, Harry of Pawan Nagar and Baba Chiri of Joura Phatak area.

Thakur stated to the police that he came out of the restaurant to buy cigarettes from a kiosk near the office of the Public Works Department. A car came from behind and the persons traveling in it came out and started thrashing him. He said one of them, Baba Chiri, hit a brick on his head, leaving him injured. They bundled him in the car and sped away. They threatened to eliminate him and dumped him near Verka overbridge from where he was taken to a hospital by his members of his family.

Thakur said a dispute between his brother Vicky and Kaka Kirach was the reason behind the attack. The police have registered a case. No arrests have been made as of now.
