Workers of the Communist Party of India paid tributes to Shaheed Udham Singh on his death anniversary at a function in Chabal on Friday.
Prithipal Singh Marimegha, state deputy secretary of the party, said: “The present governments have forgotten the ideals of patriots who sacrificed their lives in the country’s war of Independence. The aim of Shaheed Udham Singh, Bhagat Singh and their revolutionary comrades was to expel the British from the country and establish a system in which food, housing, health and education could be provided to every human being for free.”— OC

Amritsar: Members of the Sarb Kamboj Samaj on Friday remembered Shaheed Udham Singh on his martyrdom day at Jallianwala Bagh.They paid floral tributes at his bust. Mangal Singh Kishan Puri, district president of the samaj, narrated the story of his martyrdom. — TNS
