Tarn Taran, June 17

The contractual workers of the local roadways depot, under the banner of Punjab Roadways, Punbus / PRTC Contractual Workers’ Union, held a gate rally regarding their demands here on Friday.

Satnam Singh Tur, depot president, and other leaders of the organisation stressed on the need to implement ‘equal work equal pay’ formula and regularise contractual employees in Punbus and PRTC. The leaders also stressed to fill up vacant posts of Punjab Roadways on a regular basis and to reinstate their blacklisted employees. They said it was a matter of grave concern that they were not being paid on time. The leaders stressed to chalk out policies to make roadways a profitable institution.

The workers held a gate rally in Patti too. They warned that in case their demands were not met, the organisation would block the bus stand on June 21 for two hours.
