Tarn Taran, January 1
A sambar was found dead on Saturday from the National Highways No. 54 near Rasulpur village from the roadside. He was bearing multiple injuries. The local Sadar police told the officials of the Wildlife Department who took the carcass in their custody. The postmortem of the animal was conducted at the local Veterinary Polyclinic where Dr Baljit Singh Veterinary Officer conducted the postmortem.
Dr Baljit Singh said it looked that the animal died in a road accident as its limbs received multiple injuries and even its legs too were broken. Residents said more often wildlife animals came out of their earmarked area and fail to return and die in road accidents. — OC
