School observes martyrdom day of Swami Shraddhanand

The students of DAV Public School here observed the martyrdom day of Swami Shraddhanand. He was an educationist and Arya Samaj missionary who propagated the teachings of Swami Dayanand Saraswati. He was a promoter of education for girls and sacrificed his profession when a call came from Swami Dayanand Saraswati to serve Arya Samaj.
He spent his life serving the nation by joining the struggle for independence under the leadership of Gandhi. He also worked for the betterment of the society and aimed to produce disciplined citizens in the community, completely imbued with ancient Vedic ideals and national outlook.
The students staged a play highlighting important events from his life. They also recited poems narrating his inspirational life and took a pledge to follow his ideals.
Dr Neera Sharma, Principal of the school said Swami Shraddhanand was a valiant warrior of the war of independence and presents a living portrait of bravery and sacrifice.
