This was followed by a first for GNDU. The university authorities disbursed retirement benefits to eight retirees on the very day of retirement, a feat made possible through university’s self-developed software applications to streamline and digitalise financial functioning. Dr Karamjeet Singh Chahal, Registrar, said the university has begun its transition towards digitalisation of all of its major academic as well as administrative functions.

The university’s Departments of Information Technology and Computer Science & Applications has developed five software applications for core operational areas, aiming for complete digitisation in operations under the E-GNDU project. Five core applications, including e-Exams, e-Office for administrative functions, e-Leave for leave applications, e-Complaints for grievance redressal and e-Admission will streamline and enhance the efficiency of operations. Under this, the financial operations of the university too will be covered.
