The SGPC executive committee here on Monday rejected the resignation by Harjinder Singh Dhami from the post of president.

Also, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has softened its stand against the rebels, asking them to get united. A day before the Akal Takht-monitored panel is scheduled to start the membership drive from the Takht premises, SAD working president Balwinder Singh Bhunder offered SAD membership forms to them.

Addressing a press conference here, Bhunder asked the rebels to sink the differences, saying unity among all Akali factions was a must.
