Pathankot: “If you give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, if you teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. This is what education is. It is what survives when what has been learned gets forgotten,” said Dinesh Sharma, when he retired as principal of the prestigious SRPA Adarsh Bhartiya College, Pathankot. Sharma served the college for 39 years in various capacities. He was given an emotional send-off by SDM Arshdeep Singh Lobana, acting principal Dr Vinod Dogra and other members of the teaching and non-teaching staff. In a brief but impressive speech, Dr Sharma told students, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. The main purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows. Its other purpose is to replace an empty mind with an open one.” TNS
