Shiksha Block, Amritsar-1 win primary school games

The 44th three-day district level primary school games being held at Guru Nanak Khel Stadium concluded today. District Education Officer Kanwaljit Singh, who was the chief guest, distributed prizes to the winners.

In the final games played today, Block Amritsar-1 won the first and Majitha won the second place in Kabaddi National Style for Boys; Amritsar won the first, Verka won the second prize in Kabaddi National Style for Girls. In football, Amritsar-2 won the first and Tarsikka second place while Amritsar-1 won the first and Jandiala Guru second spot in wrestling. The overall trophy was won by Shiksha Block, Amritsar-1.

DEO Kanwaljit Singh congratulated the organisers for the arrangements and also the winners and their teachers. “These games boost the confidence of the children, while also nurturing their skills and talent from a young age. Many of these winners today will hopefully go on to represent Punjab and India in the national and international arena,” he said.
