Six govt schools in Amritsar district receive award

Six government schools in the district have received cash prizes under the Best School Awards announced by the Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, on Friday. A total of 161 government schools have been given the “Best School Award” carrying total prize money of Rs 11 crore for the year 2023 till 2025.

Harjot Singh Bains said that 92 primary, middle, high and senior secondary schools have been awarded today for the session 2023-24 and 69 middle, high and senior secondary schools for the session 2024-25.

He informed that primary schools have been awarded with Rs 2.5 lakh cash prize each, middle schools with Rs 5 lakh each, high schools with Rs 7.5 lakh each and senior secondary schools with Rs 10 lakh each.

Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Kathunangal, Government High School, Nangli and Government Middle School, Kherabad, have received awards for the year 2023-24. Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Tapiala, Government High School, Shahura and Government Middle School, Bhoewali, have received award for the year 2024-25.
