Six-year-old felicitated by Akal Takht for scaling highest Russian peak

He felicitated Teghbir with a Siropa (robe of honour) and a Siri Sahib (sword) as a mark of recognition for his achievement. Baba Tek Singh, Jathedar, Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, was also present on the occasion.

In April 2024, Teghbir Singh became the youngest child to reach the Mount Everest base camp in Nepal at the age of five. Later, in August 2024, he set another record by becoming the youngest Indian and Asian child to scale Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa.
Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj said Teghbir comes from a devout Sikh family and his extraordinary achievements at such a young age had brought immense pride to the global Sikh community. He said Teghbir Singh’s journey serves as an inspiration for others. Jathedar Gargajj extended his best wishes to the child for greater accomplishments in the future and offered prayers for continued spiritual attainment and “chardi kala” (rising spirit) of his entire family.
Teghbir Singh’s father Sukhinder Deep Singh, mother Dr Manpreet Kaur and sister Pavitjot Kaur were also honoured on the occasion.
