The Minister for Medical Education and Research, OP Soni, gave the financial assistance of Rs20,000 to shopkeepers affected by fire in the old vegetable market near Hall Gate here on November 22.

A total of nine shops and 20 vends were gutted in fire. On Sunday, cheques were given to Darshan Lal, Kasturi Lal, Ratan Lal, Bhupinder Singh, Yogesh Kumar, Rajinder Kumar, Pawan Sehgal, Sandeep Kumar and Tirath Ram.
