Special assembly organised

DAV Public School

Amritsar: To pay homage to freedom fighter Chandra Shekhar Azad, a special assembly was organised at DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar. His patriotism and courage inspired many in his generation to fight for freedom. Patriotic songs and inspirational thoughts reverberated through the campus during the assembly. Students were filled with pride by the time the assembly ended and promised to work together towards building a better nation. Principal Pallavi Sethi urged the students to become good citizens and imbibe the values of patriotism and universal brotherhood. She encouraged them to carry forward the message of Chandra Shekhar Azad.

Sri Guru Teg Bahadur College

The students of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur (SGTB) College for Women brought laurels to the institution by bagging top positions in the Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) examinations. Principal Nanak Singh said BCA students Sneha and Jaspreet Kaur created history by bagging the second and third positions, respectively, in the Amritsar district. He congratulated them and said the college was committed to promoting talent. He also thanked the management for providing a conducive environment for students to excel in.

DAV College

The 67th Annual Athletics Meet of DAV College, Amritsar, concluded. Chief guest Suhinder Kaur said sports were essential for a healthy and balanced life she, especially, encouraged girls to partake in them. Principal Amardeep Gupta thanked all dignitaries for their presence and urged the students to focus on both academics and sports. The athletics meet featured events such as a band display, marchpast, track events and gymnastic display. In the male category, for long jump, Jaideep Singh of BCom stood first, Prabhjot Singh of BCA stood second and Yugraj Singh of BA stood third. In the women’s category, Gurpreet Kaur secured the first position and Urmila bagged the second position. Yuvraj Singh and Gurpreet Kaur were honoured with the ‘player of the year’ award.
