Tarn Taran: Girls outshine boys in ICSE Class X results

Students of St Francis School (SFS) and Punjab Children Academy (PCA) captured the first three positions in the district in the Class X results, declared by the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) on Sunday.

There are a total six students, who got the first three positions, including four girls and two boys.

Harmandeep Singh, Director of the PCA, and Sister Limsy of the SFS said on Monday that Jasmeen Kaur of the SFS and Ajaypal Singh Sandhu of the PCA bagged the first position jointly by securing 97 per cent marks.

Parneet Kaur Randhawa (SFS), Jainishpreet Kaur (PCA) and Sagar Sharma (PCA) got the second position jointly with 96.2 per cent marks. Parampreet Kaur Rai (SFS) came third with 96 per cent marks. The meritorious students were honoured by the school management in simple ceremonies in the school concerned.

As many as 161 students appeared in the exam from the SFS and 33 students secured more than 90 per cent marks, while 107 students of the PCA appeared in the exam and out of these 14 students got more than 90 per cent marks.

Meritorious students celebrate success

Amritsar: The result for ICSE Class X exams was declared on Sunday evening and the meritorious students from the city celebrated their success with their teachers and parents.

Gulnaz Sidhu and Sutikshan, students of St Francis School, brought laurels to the school by scoring 98.40 per cent marks followed by Subneet Kaur (97.6%) and Tanveer Kaur (97%). A total of 169 students of the school appeared for the examination. Out these, 20 scored more than 95 per cent marks and 45 scored above 80 per cent marks.

Students of Revel Dale Public School, Rangarh, Attari, also gave 100 per cent results. School topper Deepak Sandhu scored 96.6 per cent marks. As many as 10 other students got over 90 per cent marks. — TNS
