State finance secretary-cum- Amritsar district president Ashwini Awasthi said the teachers discussed issues related to recast lists, transfers, promotions and pending regularisations that needed to be resolved. In Punjab, the recasting of appointment lists for elementary teacher training (ETT) teachers, specifically the 6635 ETT positions, has led to some teachers being excluded from the list. This situation has caused concern among teachers and resulted in the District Teachers’ Front (DTF) demanding that the Education Minister protect the jobs of those affected by the recasting process.
