Tarn Taran teachers gherao District Education Officer

In a protest against their pending demands, teachers of a block in Tarn Taran gheraoed the office of the District Education Officer (Elementary).

All unions of government teachers extended their support to the agitating teachers. Sukhwinder Singh, Jagjit Singh, Gursahib Singh, Satnam Singh, Prabhjot Singh Gohalwar, Dilbag Singh Shahabpur and leaders of other teachers’ organisations addressed the protesters on the occasion.

The speakers alleged that the agitating teachers had been demanding for resolving their issues since long but no one listened to their grievances. The leaders said their demands include completion of service books, police verification cases, ACRs, monthly salary in time and payment of arrears.

DEO (E) Jagwinder Singh Lehri and Deputy DEO (E) Paramjit Singh Gill assured the agitating teachers to resolve their issues soon. The officials said they had already warned the officials and employees of the concerned block against their negligence.
