Sandhu added that the theatre festival, titled “Desh Raag – The Tone of the Nation,” was presented as a free-flowing timeline depicting the eventful journey of India, exploring the socio-cultural factors behind the freedom struggle and how family dynamics are influenced by social changes.

“The show, conceptualised and directed by the school Principal, Rajiv Kumar Sharma, offered an insightful glance at how parenting has evolved across generations while emphasising the importance of instilling a sense of belonging and commitment to socio-cultural values among the young generation,” said Sandhu.

The event was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar, Dalwinderjit Singh. During his address, the chief guest highlighted the role of grandparents and family elders in complementing teachers’ efforts to instil values in children.

Principal Rajiv Kumar Sharma, who also directed the production and worked closely with the students and teaching team to bring his vision to life, said, “Through theatre, young minds are able to experience and internalise concepts that might otherwise seem abstract or preachy in a regular classroom setting.”
