Theft case at NRI’s house cracked, 3 held
With the arrest of three persons on the charge of theft, the city police have cracked the burglary case at an NRI’s house that took place last month.
The thieves had decamped with a 60-inch LED, a scooter, microwave and two LPG cylinders besides other valuables from the house.
Those arrested were identified as Raj Kumar alias Tamatar (20) of East Mohan Nagar, Sunny Kumar (23) of Sultanwind village and Keshav Sharma (27) of Sant Vihar Colony.
Sukhjit Singh, a resident of Ferozepur, told the police that his sister Gurjit Kaur and her husband Kanwar Amarinderdeep Singh of Diamond Estate, Sultanwind Link Road, had gone to the USA in May last year and her house was locked. He said that on January 20, when he came to visit her house, he found the main gate open. He said he entered the house and found it ransacked. An LED, Activa scooter, microwave and two LPG cylinders had been stolen, Sukhjit Singh said.
Kamaljit Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police (South), said that Sunny had around five cases against him and Raj Kumar had one FIR of a similar nature against his name. He said further investigations were on and more recoveries are likely to be made on the basis of their disclosure
