Three held with illegal weapon

Three persons were arrested with illegal weapon and ammunition by the police at a naka on the Goindwal Sahib road on Thursday. ASI Sukhdev Singh said the arrested suspects were identified as Jigarpreet Singh of Talwandi Meharsingh, Manpinder Singh of Jhugian Peer Bakhsh and Jugraj Singh of Sito Meh Jhugian villages.

The ASI said the supects were travelling in a car when they were stopped at the naka by the police. During search of the car, the police recovered a country-made pistol with three cartridges. The police also recovered three mobiles phones which belonged to the suspects. A case under the Arms Act was registered against the three suspect, the ASI said. — OC
