Three nabbed with 255 gm of heroin
A case has been registered under Sections 21(C), 29, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act
The Amritsar Rural Police have achieved a major breakthrough by arresting three accused with 255 grams of heroin. The operation was conducted by the Special Cell under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (Rural) Suhail Mir, and DSP (Detective) Gurinderpal Singh.
During routine patrolling near Khassa village, the Special Cell team intercepted Pradeep Singh, a resident of Hardo Rattan village, and recovered 255 grams of heroin from his possession. On interrogation, he revealed the names of his two associates, Jagrup Singh of Verka and Karanbir Singh of Nangal Vanjha Wala. Acting swiftly on the information, the police arrested both individuals shortly afterward.
A case has been registered against the three at the Gharinda police station under Sections 21(C), 29, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act. The police said further investigation is underway to examine the forward and backward links of the arrested accused. Anyone else found involved in the drug network will also face strict legal action, they added.
