The city police have arrested three snatchers who had looted two brothers from Parkash Vihar area when they were returning home at night.

The arrested have been identified as Khushveen Singh alias Khushi (27) of Guru Nanak Avenue, Auguston alias Zoro (28) of Kirpal Colony, Majitha Road and Jatinderpal Singh aka Bawa Rampal (27) of Jagdambe Colony on Batala road.

Khushveen returned from Dubai around seven months ago and Jatinderpal used to work at a liquor vend, said a police official. Zoro had two cases of snatching while prevention was also taken twice against him.

The police recovered three laptops, a motorcycle and a sharp-edged weapon from their possession.

Raj Kumar, a resident of Parkash Vihar, Batala Road, told the police that he works in an IT company while his brother also works with him. On Thursday, both were returning home after work at around 9.15pm when three youth travelling on a bike intercepted them. They snatched their bag containing three laptops, a mobile phone and Rs 1,560 cash.

Police authorities said that they were produced in court and brought on police remand for further investigations. More recoveries are likely to be made from them, they added.
