Two buffaloes of an animal breeder died due to electrocution at Sheron village here on Sunday.

The victim, Jaimal Singh, in his complaint to the Sarhali police said that he had tied his buffaloes with a tree and an electric current passed to it from the cable hanging close to the tree, leading to the death of the buffaloes on the spot.

Baljinder Singh Sheron, leader of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, while expressing grief over the loss of the cattle, has demanded compensation for the owner.

Gagandeep Singh, Senior XEN, local Rural Division, Powercom, when contacted, said he was totally unaware of the incident as he was busy in the operation to restore power supply, which was disrupted due to the strong storm on Saturday night.
