Two held with 25-gm heroin at Gharinda

The rural police nabbed two drug peddlers with 25-gram heroin here on Tuesday. The accused have been identified as Resham Singh, a resident of Basarke Bhaini, and Prabhajit Singh, alias Gora, a resident of Nathupura village, were arrested with 25 grams of heroin.
Satinder Singh, SSP, Amritsar Rural Police, said a special campaign against drug addiction had been launched under which instructions were issued to all police officers and chief officers for zero tolerance against drug peddlers.
He said in this regard, a case under Sections 21, 61 and 85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, was registered against the accused at the Gharinda police station and investigation is being carried out. The forward and backward links of the accused persons are being investigated thoroughly and strict action will be taken against whoever is involved.
