Two injured as SUV falls off flyover
An immigration consultant along with a woman was injured when their SUV fell from a flyover near the Fatehgarh Churian bypass here on Friday.
The police are ascertaining the reason behind the mishap. Eyewitnesses said the vehicle went out of control as it was being driven at high speed and fell around 15 feet down from the flyover. The SUV was badly damaged.
The injured, identified as Pavitar Singh and Sandeep Kaur, both residents of Mehta, were admitted to a private hospital where they were under treatment.
Subhash Chander, an eyewitness, informed the police about the incident. He said there was a loud noise when the red-coloured SUV fell upside down from the flyover. The people gathered at the spot and immediately pulled out the victims from the SUV. They had suffered serious injuries. They were rushed to hospital where their condition is state to be serious.
The police said they were ascertaining the cause of the incident. The injured are still no fit for recording their statements. Appropriate action would be taken after recording the statements of the victims.
